This is a fantastic SNES game developed by Squaresoft. The storyline is fluid and the gameplay is great. You are a young lad, the typical RPG hero, ruff hair, by the name of Chrono. You bump into a girl at the annual millennium fair, her name is Marle. You hear that your inventor friend Lucca and her father have created a newfangled machine. Of course being the adventurous guy you are, you go and take a look. You discover it is a teleportation device and give it a whirl. Marle thinks it looks pretty fun, so she too gives it a go. But as she steps up, something goes wrong with the machine, and a shimmering blue vortex opens up and swallows her. The courageous hero (you) goes after Marle to rescue her.

The storyline is linear until halfway into the game, then it becomes very nonlinear. You have the choice of doing whatever you want, you may want to finish the boss of then, or delve deeper into the story by doing extra things. Chronotrigger has a large amount of endings, which one you get depends on what you did in the second part of the game.

The fighting sequences are rather unique, sort of a cross between Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy. You can see enemies and avoid them, but when you touch them or they see you, you shift into a battle mode similar to the FF one.

The graphics in this one are great, akin to the Final Fantasy VI (US Final Fantasy III) ones. Character animation is fluid and cut scenes are also quite fluid.

The sound is great in comparison to most other SNES games, yet can become a bit annoying if you listen too it too much, especially the battle music.

Overall this game impressed me a lot, I wouldn't say it was the greatest SNES RPG I have ever played, but it sure does come close.
