This has to be one of the original RPGs I have ever played. Instead of the traditional fighting monsters etc. you are a young farmer who has left home to develop a ranch. You buy livestock, seeds, plow the ground feed the cows like the good farmer you are. The other aspect of this game is that you can develop a social life with one of the girls (or all of them, it depends what you want to do), and if you wish you may also marry, if the girl likes you enough that is. Sadly, once you have been farming for two years, the game ends, but, the great part is you can start all over again and you can do entirely different things. You may decide to devote yourself to cows, or that sort of thing.

The graphics in Harvest Moon are a bit cheesy, but the animals are cutely made, which gives the whole game a warm fuzzy feeling to it.

The sound can get really repedative, extremely repeditive. But you can always turn it down, and the game still feels good.

Overall this is a great original game, which will keep you busy for ages!
